Glowforge Pro vs. Pen Laser Engraver: A Quality Inspector's Guide to Choosing (and Actually Using) Your First Laser
Here's the honest answer: there is no 'best' laser engraver. There's only the one that fits the stuff you'll actually put under it. I review laser-cut and engraved products before they ship at a small custom-engraving company. In a normal week, that's 200+ units. In December, it's more like 400. Scenario A: You're building or feeding a small business
If you're selling engraved cutting boards, company awards, wedding signs, or any repeat item, your real requirement is repeatable output. You need to reproduce the same design at the same depth and position, over and over, without measuring twice.
This is where a Glowforge Pro earns its reputation. At least, that's been my experience in a small shop. The Glowforge Pro bed size is about 20 by 11 inches. That's enough for a large cutting board, a full set of coasters in one pass, or little wooden name tags.
