What Creators Are Saying

★★★★★
"We replaced a $15,000 industrial unit with the Glowforge Pro and honestly haven't missed a beat. The accuracy is indistinguishable on parts under 6mm thick, and the software makes job setup five times faster."
Marcus Tremblay Production Lead, Atelier Bespoke, Montreal
★★★★★
"My students go from SVG file to finished product in under 20 minutes. No CNC training required. That's not marketing — that's just what happens when the interface is actually designed for humans."
Dr. Keiko Yanagisawa STEM Director, Westfield Innovation Academy, Portland
★★★★★
"After 14 months and roughly 2,000 operating hours, the cut quality hasn't degraded. I've only replaced the lens once. For a machine at this price point, that kind of longevity changes the economics entirely."
Rachel Greenfield Founder, Cut & Fold Studio, Austin

Frequently Asked Questions

The Glowforge Pro handles over 20 material types. It cuts wood (hardwood and plywood up to 6.35mm), acrylic, leather, fabric, paper, and cardboard. It engraves all of those plus glass, coated metals, stone, ceramic, and anodized aluminum. We maintain a tested materials database at glowforgepro.com/materials with specific settings for each combination. Note: it does not cut bare metals, PVC, or polycarbonate due to reflectivity and chemical safety concerns.

The standard bed is 495 x 279mm (19.5" x 11"). The passthrough slot on the Pro model extends this to unlimited length — we've completed projects over 3 meters long by feeding material through the slot. Maximum material height is 50mm (2") for engraving; maximum cutting thickness depends on material: approximately 6.35mm for wood and acrylic in a single pass, with deeper cuts achievable through multiple passes at reduced speed.

Yes, ventilation is required. The Glowforge Pro includes a 4-inch exhaust port that connects to a window vent kit (included) or an optional compact filter unit for fully indoor operation. Electrical: standard 110V/15A outlet (US) or 220V with adapter (international). No three-phase power, no special wiring. The machine draws approximately 800W at peak and 400W at idle.

The primary interface is browser-based — upload SVG, PNG, or PDF files, arrange them on the virtual bed, choose settings, and print. No software installation needed. An internet connection is required for the standard workflow because the cloud handles complex path optimization. However, we released a local processing mode in 2023 that allows continued operation during internet outages using cached settings. The cloud service is included with purchase at no recurring fee.

Every Glowforge Pro ships with a 2-year comprehensive warranty covering the laser tube, motion system, and electronics. Support is available via email, chat, and scheduled video calls. Average first-response time is under 4 hours during business hours. We stock replacement parts in warehouses in Seattle (US) and Rotterdam (EU) for fast shipping. Extended 3-year and 5-year warranty plans are available at purchase.
